Project supported by the DG XII-Environment has implemented a conflict analysis methodology based on Multi-criteria Analysis for the evaluation of European transport policies.

The methodologies have been tested in four case studies: Railway connection between London and Channel Tunnel, goods railway line “Betuwe” between Rotterdam port and Germany, road network in Lisbon region and LPT in Lombardia region.

The analysis has been carried out using a Geographical Information Systems (GIS), Multi-criteria Analysis, to explore and reveal policy objectives within policy units and to measure conflicts between policy units, policy actors and stakeholders, and Operations Research methodologies to feedback information to the policy actors and provide information on how to improve policy measures.
