Over the past two weeks, project partners of the Horizon Europe CROSS-REIS project participated in two collaboration events in Rijeka, Croatia and Niš, Serbia. The main objectives of these events are to get to know the project partners’ institutions, network and facilities, explore potential research collaboration, share data and discuss key project developments and future plans.
The first visit was hosted by the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Rijeka (EFRI) from June 19th to 21st.
The agenda featured sessions that included familiarisation with the expertise and research infrastructure at EFRI, a comprehensive tour of the EFRI campus, a visit to the Rijeka Development Agency PORIN Ltd. and a tour of the University of Rijeka (UNIRI). Participants could also join the sessions of the international conference “Economics of Digital Transformation (EDT)”, while on the second day project partners gathered for a semi-annual project partners’ meeting. Simona Muratori (Poliedra) and Prof. Renato Casagrandi (PoliMi) presented respectively the project’s Quality control and assurance plan, prepared by Poliedra, and preliminary activities for joint research on urban biodiversity and ecosystem services as part of WP7.
The second visit was hosted by the Faculty of Economics at the University of Niš (FEUN) from June 26th to 28th.
FEUN’s representatives provided an overview of the institution’s projects and infrastructure. Participants were given a tour of the Science-Technology Park Niš, followed by a presentation on the Advanced Technology Forum, and also a tour of the SKIP Centar, the first Serbian-Korean Information Access Center, as a part of the Ministry of Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government. Project partners also had the opportunity to participate in the “Regional Development and Demographic Flows of Southeastern European Countries” conference, organised by FEUN colleages.
