The project designed and developed a spatial multicriteria decision support system (DSS) based on a Geographical Information System for hazardous materials transport in the city of Milan.

The prototype of the Information System is able to describe the decisional problem (analysing the territory, modelling the sources of risk, identifying the possible routes, …), to support the administrator in the choice of best path for dangerous goods and to monitor and manage emergencies. The DSS considers both the problems of routing and scheduling the shipments in urban and suburban road networks, taking into account the viewpoints of the interested parties.
